About the Artist
Meet Sara
Sara started offering her calligraphy services in 2012 to develop a creative practice. Her love for all details and the lettering artforms were a natural extension to her dance background. Her study of various styles and techniques with calligraphy masters across the country has led to a deep training in both traditional and modern calligraphy styles. She collaborates closely with her clients to create the optimal calligraphy style and determines how it all comes together pen-to-paper.
Her work has appeared in events with non-profit organizations including The Joyce Theater and Oceana; restaurant displays for sweetgreen; pop-up calligraphy events for luxury retail clients at Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store; and large-scale collaborations with stationery designers to create wedding calligraphy for invitations and private clients.
Prior to creating her own practice, Sara studied dance and business at Point Park University. She has spent much of her career in arts and design administration, helping creative leaders bring their ideas to life and managing projects throughout their design and implementation processes. She’s led the international and visiting company management and marketing efforts for The Joyce Theater, and managed diverse wayfinding, signage, and experiential graphic design projects for Two Twelve, a New York City and Honolulu based design firm.
